"Vitacado" Vintage Fruit Crate Label Giveaway

'Tis the season of giving! To celebrate the 12 days of Christmas I am giving away a collectible vintage fruit crate label!

I had hoped to do a long post about the orange crate label's lesser-known cousin, the avocado crate label, but life is hectic with a baby in the house. Suffice to say that avocados were grown all over Southern California after being imported from Mexico in the late 1870s. If you'd like to read a short piece about the history of avocado growing try the California Avocados page. It is likely that the avocado pictured on this beautiful label is the delicious Hass avocado that we know and love (originally discovered by a mail carrier in the 1920s and grown in La Habra Heights, California). These smaller-format labels are just as collectible as the larger orange crate labels and look wonderful when framed.

To enter, leave a comment at the end of this post. Don't forget to click the "Leave a blog post comment" box in the Rafflecopter widget. (Rafflecopter doesn't seem to be working properly so I'll have to pull names out of hat!).

A winner will be selected by random drawing. This contest is open worldwide and entries close on the 12th day of Christmas: January 6, 2017.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
